Motivation for Tuesday

I've been super lazy lately. I've been eating iffy lately but exercising...eh. Three day weekend has made me EXTRA realize the laziness and so today and I ate much better. Plotting on workouts now and deciding how I want to approach it, what I want to do.

This, this is me on a daily basis. I am a mega beast when I am hungry! My boyfriend doesn't even like to be around me when I'm hungry and I can't blame him.

And there are days when I sit there and debate for an hour on what kind of workout I should do that day. Yep, it's sad.

Sometimes we need a bit of motivation.

Vega Sport Protein Review

So through Fit Approach, I got to test out the Vega Sport Performance Protein powder in Vanilla. Stand alone protein powder, I am not a big fan of vanilla, but for mixing with fruits (and occasionally veggies), vanilla is my favorite.

I was actually a little hesitant to try this. I'm not a huge fan of plant based protein but I was also looking for a cleaner supplement to try and have had heard NOTHING but excellent things about Vega, and the Vega Sport Performance line sounded amazing.

Step 1: My ingredients! Strawberries, frozen mango, unsweetened vanilla almond milk, ground flax seed, and Vega Sport Vanilla protein powder

This is what the protein powder looks like out of the bag. It was a slightly brown color, but consistency was normal compared to most protein powder.

After blending it all up!

The texture of the smoothie was a bit different from what I'm used to. It was thicker, but wasn't drastically different. The taste was different for me; it definitely wasn't as sweet as I'm used to protein powder being, but considering the usual one I've been using might as well be cake batter... It mixed well, it has a ton of protein for such a small amount of product! I also am a huge fan of no artificial sweeteners that so many others have.

This one is definitely good for you! The nutrition facts are fantastic. The taste isn't any worse than a normal, lightly flavored protein powder. I would definitely keep using this for my fruit smoothies for added protein and I'd feel comfortable giving this supplement to my 11 year old. If you eat clean, this is definitely something to add to your supplement arsenal.

Wednesday Wisdom and wit!

Have I ever mentioned that I minored in English? Ha! That's where I get all of the somewhat kooky sayings I write.

And while Zimbardo is a bit crazy, this series of quotes are great:

Book reviews coming

Something I'm thinking of starting to do book reviews, and planning on incorporating it into my blog.

I read voraciously, and happily identify myself as a complete Bibliophile. It's a huge part of my life! My favorite Disney movie growing up was Beauty and the Beast...because of the library!

I mean, seriously. Looks how beautiful that is!

One of my favorite places, that I've been in the United States that is, is Joseph Beth Booksellers in Lexington, KY. It's pretty close the being Beast's Castle Library!

I'm thinking about doing this on a once a week, or biweekly basis. We'll see how it goes!

Wednesday Wit!

A collection of images I've collected over the last week that make me think, and make me laugh!

Duh...

How important it is to take body fat and muscle into consideration!

I've gotten more active and since moving to Austin, definitely have moved out of my comfort zone. Found some quotes that are fitting and wanted to share.

Yeah finally! New post

Life has definitely gotten hectic, but I'm finally working on some balance.

My job is interesting and I'm constantly learning new things. It keeps me engaged for the most part and they are a huge proponent of Work/Life balance which makes my life so much easier. If I, or my child is sick, I can stay home.

Updates. I tried the 21 day fix. Not for the workouts; I only did a week and a half of those before I got bored with them. I did it for the portion control aspect and it has been wonderful. It's really taught me about how and what I need to eat more of to feel better but mostly that I eat too damn much of certain things! I noticed an increase in energy and I did manage to lose a bit of weight.

I also bought a mountain bike. Living in Austin, being outside is absolutely necessary. There are trails, bike paths (both mountain and street), ponds, rocks to climb. So much! One of my favorites is in Johnson City, called Pedernales. Plus, I really hate running and machines are boring.

Look how neat this place is! This was taken a couple of years ago, but I can't wait to go back this weekend and take the munchkin.

I'm working on planning everything out for meals, workouts, Bible study/reflection, and time with my family. Adulting is hard. I like to plan, and I love having a paper planner so I'm using Passion Planner! It was a Kickstarter I backed earlier this year and I love it. She actually has printable sheets on her site if you want to try them out. Pretty neat and she's super sweet!

Blatantly "borrowed" from her site.

I'll update this post with my own planner pages too; I'm working on the rest of the months now.

I've also been going to a Bible study group that some people at work started. It's an awesome way to start the day on Friday.
